ÁbacoCares

Ábaco Strategy formed ÁbacoCares at the end of 2019 with the intent to fulfill the following community outreach goals.

  • Ábaco Strategy/ÁbacoCares hopes to positively impact the lives of those around us (individuals, families, schools, faith-based organizations, community)
  • Ábaco Strategy wants to use ÁbacoCares as a conduit to empower economically and socially disadvantaged communities

  • Northern Virginia Section, National Council of Negro Women, Inc – No One is Left Behind
    • Raising money to support summer tutoring programs for children in Loudoun and Fairfax counties

  • Women Giving Back Clothes Sort
    • The ÁbacoCares team will reach out to WGB to get details/dates for us to do our own clothes sort

Supported ÁbacoCares Initiatives

  • Collected/donated 550 pencil cases to Women Giving Back
  • Sunday, June 19th, 2021 – ÁbacoCares purchased and donated a table at the Kids Read Donor Appreciation Dinner that were offered to Loudoun County teachers/staff to attend
  • Friday, June 11, 2021 – ÁbacoCares Service day filled a truck with employee and corporate donations (both new and gently used clothes as well as needed toiletries and supplies) for Women Giving Back
  • Fall Fundraiser 2021 – Coat/Hat/Scarves/Glove Drive for Knights of Columbus
  • Holiday Fundraiser 2021 – Suburban full of employee donations in addition to corporate donations consisting of:
    • $803 – Women Giving Back
    • $699 – Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter Thrift Store
    • $501 – Loudoun Hunger Relief
    • $1500+ — House of Peace/Cincinnati
  • Ukrainian Refugee Support/Employer Match for Bethenny Frankel with bstrong in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM)
    • Employee Contributions: $1,396.51
    • Ábaco Match: $1,400.00
    • Total Donation: $2,796.51
  • Women Giving Back Prom Dress Drive
    • Suburban full of gently used formal dresses and shoes
  • Friday, May 6, 2022 – ÁbacoCares Service Day
    • Suburban full of donations for Ukrainian Emergency Relief Cargo Flights through St. Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral
    • Employee and corporate donations exceeding $5000 worth of desperately needed food, medical supplies, baby supplies, military aide, etc.
